thank you for a great SUMMER MARKET SEASON!

The Revelstoke Local Food Initiative summer farmer’s market - Video by Shota Ida.

We are thankful to all the fantastic vendors, the loyal market-goers and visitors from all over the world for visiting our farmers market this summer! It was a successful season and we can’t thank you enough for your support!

As the snow line moves closer down to Revelstoke we are getting ready to start the Winter Market season 24/25! We are starting out with three Thursdays and then move to Saturdays (except from one market on Thursday in march) and the hours are adjusted to give you enough time to come to the market after a day of playing in the snow - new market hours are noon to 4pm. As always we are honoured to be hosting a fantastic range of vendors, from fresh produce to meat, eggs, honey, cider, wine, coffee, baked treats and art items from our talented local artists.

  • every second week 12-4pm at the Revelstoke community & aquatic centre

  • bring cash, a bag and invite a friend to tag along

  • if you want to avoid crowds visit mid-afternoon

  • check the dates as some markets take place on Thursdays and some on Saturdays. You can also sign up for our newsletter or import a google calendar to get reminders.

greenhouse in Revelstoke?

A Greenhouse Feasibility Study was conducted this summer to look into the viability of developing a greenhouse for our community.

A greenhouse is a great way to have the community involved all year round, potentially provide opportunities for small-scale farmers to sell their harvests, and most of all to increase our food security!

Check out the feasibility study here. If you are interested in hearing more, please contact info@revelstokelocalfood.com.

What we offer

ABOUT Food Security

tools.png

Food Security, a term that encompasses our access to healthy, sustainable and affordable food, has become an important topic in recent years. There is a growing trend towards all things local, fresh and home-grown. The LFI sees the potential to nurture this trend as it benefits our health, our economy, our earth and our culture. Through education, facilitation and advocacy we will empower the community to enhance local food production and utilization.
